clover market

This weekend was filled with “nesting” activities, chores, and shopping…at Clover Market! First, I must confess…I had my camera, but ended up chatting too much. So, this shot is from our last time at the market, ha…this worn street lamp caught my eye. I would like to take a quick moment to mention some friends who have booths there…Spotted Horse Textiles has just joined the ranks, and the selection of authentic burlap wares and antiques are to die for. I ran into Jahje of Baby Jives and she just had a beautiful baby girl so no booth currently, but do check out her handcrafted baby mobiles, they are so charming. Many of you know of Chez Sucre Chez, and Kimberly is also now selling there…I am gaga over her unique embroidered designs…you will be seeing her work in our nursery! Clover Market is brimming with local talent and always enjoyable…it’s worth a visit Philly friends!

showering the twins!

My french infused baby shower was a success, and a beautiful, memorable day. I got to share it with such lovely ladies…I owe them a huge MERCI for helping to make it so special. It turned out to be a rainy, cozy day…the perfect conditions for a tea party, right?! We dined on Ladurée macarons and tea to the sounds of Piaf, Bruni, and Gainsbourg. I was showered with such thoughtful gifts for les bébés…vintage books, french clothing, and some good old fashioned staples. There are so many people I want to thank for making my day so amazing…but mostly our friends Angie & Tim, and my sweet hubby, whose help was priceless. I’m a very lucky woman! Stay tuned…I’ll be sharing our fun photobooth shots next!

neutral nursery tips

This is a great demonstration of how to execute a neutral nursery, via Serena & Lily! I agree with these elements, and combined, they can enable a neutral scheme to stand out. In my opinion, this scheme has great longevity and when done well, can be such a beautiful and elegant space for baby and parents!

nesting!

This makes me so happy…I bought these onesies years ago and now they are hanging in our nursery closet! It was my first purchase for our future children, knowing we wouldn’t be at that point for a while but still looking forward to the day. It’s still hard for me to believe the time has come, and I, myself, am finally NESTING!

sweet story

How sweet would this piece by Sycamore Street Press be in a nursery?

oranges and lemons

Having been part of many retail ventures, I appreciate a good one when I see it. Oranges and Lemons is an adorable local baby and children’s boutique, where I do much of my shopping! Located in Greenville, DE…they just celebrated their grand re-opening in their new space. The cheerful pint-sized space is packed and stacked with goodies for your little ones, including some of my favorite brands such as Bugaboo and Heather Moore Jewelry. Added to that is their generous selection of books, clothing and toys…I dare you to leave without something fabulous! Stop by the new space when you can, and in the meantime you can find them on Facebook and Twitter!

lulu dk & schumacher

I have admired the unique designs of Lulu DK for some time now, and was one of the first to sell her baby line for Matouk. Needless to say when I heard of her upcoming collaboration with Schumacher, I was very excited! She will soon be debuting her child focused collection, which is full color and whimsy, and gives classics a hearty boost.

nursery in progress!

Our nursery is in progress…walls have been painted (ignore the blue), closets expanded, floors are in transition. Everything is under way, and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve been planning my nursery for YEARS. You might find that odd, but keep in mind I’ve been in the baby design business for over 5 years now. It was only natural that I would be taking note of my favorite products and decor along the way…at markets, in stores, and during every client’s custom design. Needless to say, I am extremely excited to finally be making it a reality, and with the exception of a few twin related tweaks (yay!), it is essentially the vision I’ve always had. I’ll be sharing the completed design as soon as it is finished…stay tuned!

oval cribs

The latest addition to the oval crib market is coming this spring, from Bratt Decor. The J’Adore crib is a traditional iron design, with a less traditional shape of course. I have to weigh in on this trend, I can’t help myself. As interesting as it is, most people don’t realize that everything you will need for the crib is semi-custom or custom. The brands that sell these shapes do offer oval selections, but they generally cost a little more than usual shapes, and it can be difficult to find other options. In conclusion…I am not a big fan. However…if you are, and like more modern designs, check out the Stokke Sleepi Crib. Just keep these issues in mind when making your selection.

I am totally in love with these handmade animals by Walnut Animal Society! I meant to share them with you sooner, but you can still order today for Friday delivery. They are so unique, and the clothes are changeable! Henry the Fox is my personal favorite.
