It’s hard to believe I’m in the “twenties” now, and I’ve wished for it just like a teenager! For me it is a significant milestone in my pregnancy, as I am well over halfway through…crazy. I am savoring the second trimester, appreciating every day that I feel great and have energy, because I have an idea of what lies ahead for me in the third. It’s not going to be easy with twins, that’s for sure…but I am ready for the challenge! The babies are healthy, growing fast, and kicking me often…it’s truly amazing.

Having been part of many retail ventures, I appreciate a good one when I see it. Oranges and Lemons is an adorable local baby and children’s boutique, where I do much of my shopping! Located in Greenville, DE…they just celebrated their grand re-opening in their new space. The cheerful pint-sized space is packed and stacked with goodies for your little ones, including some of my favorite brands such as Bugaboo and Heather Moore Jewelry. Added to that is their generous selection of books, clothing and toys…I dare you to leave without something fabulous! The first purchase I made after learning I was pregnant was a Mama Mio kit. I love all of their products, but my favorites are the tummy rub and boob tube! Even though the majority of skin issues are due to genetics or general health, I am hoping these keep issues at bay. I’m sure I will have some stretch marks with twins (gulp), but even so, I feel pampered when I use these every day. Check out their full line of products!

I have admired the unique designs of Lulu DK for some time now, and was one of the first to sell her baby line for Matouk. Needless to say when I heard of her upcoming collaboration with Schumacher, I was very excited! She will soon be debuting her child focused collection, which is full color and whimsy, and gives classics a hearty boost.

Our nursery is in progress…walls have been painted (ignore the blue), closets expanded, floors are in transition. Everything is under way, and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve been planning my nursery for YEARS. You might find that odd, but keep in mind I’ve been in the baby design business for over 5 years now. It was only natural that I would be taking note of my favorite products and decor along the way…at markets, in stores, and during every client’s custom design. Needless to say, I am extremely excited to finally be making it a reality, and with the exception of a few twin related tweaks (yay!), it is essentially the vision I’ve always had. I’ll be sharing the completed design as soon as it is finished…stay tuned!

One benefit of pregnancy concerns is extra ultrasounds, so we’ve got quite the collection of baby photos already! The babies each have their own placenta, which is great. We can’t wait to find out the genders (soon)! They are growing fast and doing fine despite my issues. This in utero cuteness happened this week…they were moving around quite a bit and then did this! I know it looks as if they are in the same space, but you just can’t see the membrane which seperates them. The thought of them being so close is very special, and this demonstrates that for me, even if it was for a brief moment. We will always treasure this one especially!

The past week has been very tough, and I apologize for my absence. The babies are growing quickly, as is my uterus, and my body is not handling that too well at the moment. The weight of my uterus is causing quite a few medical issues for me, and it is at the point where daily activities are now difficult. I will spare you the details, but just say I am very thankful my husband is a nurse! Our furry child Billy has been extra cuddly and concerned about his mommy, and the love from the two of them is amazing. I heard the babies heartbeats again yesterday which gives me strength, and one kicked the mic! It’s as if they are saying “we’re ok mommy, hang in there”! We are looking forward to another ultrasound next week…seeing them is so incredible and uplifting. If any of you have pregnancy health issues to share or advice for me, they are welcome…and please bear with me if I am absent this week.
